A primary school in Sutton-in-Ashfield is looking to appoint an experienced Early Years teaching assistant to join their team. It is a full time role starting on 26 Feb 2018, and is to cover a maternity leave for nine months.

It is essential to have recent experience of working within a school setting. The successful candidate will be a valuable part of the whole school team. The willingness and ability to integrate within an established team is essential. This school is committed to inclusion and are looking for a good team player with a flexible approach to the curriculum, as well as an ability to foster excellent and appropriate professional relationships with children and their parents/carers. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
* Organised and pro active.
* Able to work well within a team.
* Build good relationships with both the children and teachers alike.
* Manage behaviour effectively using the school behaviour policy.
* Support the teacher in effectively managing the classroom.
* Be able to follow instructions effectively.
* Help the class teacher to ensure the classroom environment creates a safe and stimulating area.
*Able to take a lead with in small group activities in the classroom.


The successful applicant will need to possess the following:
* Be able to use initiative and think on your feet.
* Have a creative outlook and be able to create interesting displays within the classroom.
* Understand the needs of the children and how to respond to them.
* Manage challenging behaviour well and sensitively, allowing the teacher to carry on with the lesson at hand.
