Support Worker

Are you able to manage extreme behaviours and maintain a level of empathy in order to understand the young person and work towards a therapeutic intervention?

There is the opportunity to join a very well respected organisation in the St Helens area as a Children's residential support Worker. The service provides the highest standards of person centred support within a secure and therapeutic environment. This is a permanent role with some of the most competitive pay rates in the region (between £9.74 and £10.66 per hour). Other fantastic benefits include working on a three week rolling rota which includes having one out of three weekends off each cycle.

- If you are not already qualified you will have the opportunity to undertake your QCF level 3 (Children and young people) which will be paid for by the organisation. With this will come an increase in salary.

- You will have the opportunity to work for 12 weeks through the agency before making the decision to go permanent so you can be sure this position is right for you.

-During the initial 12 weeks you will be paid on a weekly basis via the agency.

-Extremely competitive pay rates.

Responsibilities of the role:

-Support service users on a day to day basis in a secure environment

-Offer therapeutic interventions as outlined by the individual care plans

-Keep all paperwork and daily logs up to date

To be considered for this rewarding opportunity, you must:

- Have some experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour (preferably in a secure environment)

- Be passionate about working with young people in care

- Have at least a NVQ 2 in health and social care
