SEND Teaching Assistant

One of my outstanding SEND schools are currently seeking an experienced SEND teaching assistant to join their team immediately, on an adhoc supply or long term basis. This school caters for over 90 young people who have complex physical & sensory difficulties, medical needs and other difficulties that may affect their learning.

The school is extremely well funded and you will be working with other experienced teaching assistants in the class who will be working 1:1 and in groups. Knowledge of young people with various learning difficulties, experience of complex behaviour and autistic spectrum conditions and an appropriate qualification is required. The right candidate will have experienced within an SEND school and supporting young people with PMLD at either primary or secondary level, ideally for a minimum of a year. Experience with Makaton would be advantageous for this role. Experience with mainstream SEND experience will also be considered but it is essential for all applicants to have enthusiasm, flexibility and passion for working with young people who have SEND. This will be a demanding yet extremely rewarding role and there are excellent promotion opportunities.
