Process - Project Engineer

A very well established company in Newport are looking for a new Process-Project engineer in a very exciting time of growth and success.

Benefits include:


Salary: up to £42k, dependent upon skills and experience


Holidays: 25 + Bank Holidays


Pension: Defined Contribution Scheme (Employer matches up to 5%), with Life assurance upon joining the scheme (4 x annual basic salary)


Company Sick Pay (Dependent upon length of service)


Cycle to Work Scheme in place


Working Hours: Mon - Thurs 07:30 - 16:00 / Fri 07:30 - 14:00 (There may be a requirement to work additional hours on an ad-hoc basis)

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensuring the Health & Safety of all employees within area of responsibility
* Maintaining the highest levels of housekeeping within the department
* Carrying out risk assessments for departmental tasks in conjunction with appropriate skills from within team
* Contributing to the writing of safe operating procedures for operations within the Department
* Liaising with fellow employees in all areas to achieve production priorities
* Monitoring scrap and yield trends and implement corrective actions within procedures
* Following all processes and procedures at all times
* Ensuring all Environmental controls and procedures are religiously carried out (where necessary)
* Checking that contractors on site are operating to the Company's Site Rules

Skills Requirement:

* Qualified to degree level in either Mechanical or Electrical engineering
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft office is essential
* PLC and Fanuc Robotic (read, write and edit) experience is essential
* Previous experience of delivering measurable results in a busy manufacturing environment
* Experience of working with Cross - functional Teams to achieve objectives
* Previous experience of carrying out risk assessments in the workplace and driving resulting actions would be an advantage
* Good communication skills and able to liaise across all areas of manufacturing
* Flexible and adaptable to meet demanding business needs
* Target and objective driven
* Ideally trained in the use of Six Sigma tools and methodology, Minitab data analysis preferred
* Data driven individual of a proactive nature
