Unit Coordinator for Children's Services - Hackney
£14.34 plus paid holiday

Are you an experienced secretary/PA who's previously worked in a social care setting?

Have you previously worked in a similar organisation and looking to progress?

We have an exciting opportunity to join a busy team, working closely with the Children's Services unit providing high level administrative support.

This role is a temporary contract, which the client is wanting to commence from the end of March.

Please note that this role requires an enhanced DBS certificate.

We are looking for hardworking, dynamic and compassionate secretaries to support the Social Workers. On a daily basis, you will be:

-Setting up and maintaining systems and processes
-Ensuring that the work of the unit is co-ordinated and well organised.
-Acting as a first point of contact for enquiries to the unit, some of which may be complex and/or contentious.
-Answering queries where possible, and taking messages.
-Taking phone calls or receiving office visits from children and families, dealing sensitively with families who may be in distress.
-Managing multi and complex diaries
-Organising meetings and arranging venues
-Arranging transport and other appointments for families, for example children's medicals, as directed by the members of the unit.
-Maintaining systems of key statutory requirements for children as directed by the Consultant Social Workers
-Servicing weekly case planning meetings
-Taking minutes

The idea candidate will possess:
-Strong PA/Administrative skills, including minute taking.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Analytical and able to show initiative.
-Ability to react appropriately to changing needs within the team and to anticipate this change.
-Flexible team player.
-Awareness of political sensitivity and protocol within the public sector.
-Acts on own initiative and is proactive.
-Database research is a prominent part of the role so candidates must be computer literate.
-Strong Microsoft Office experience is needed together with experience of processing payments.
-Prior experience with Framework-i is highly desirable.
