Financial Accountant - Charity Sector

Are you a full or part qualified financial accountant looking for a new opportunity?
Have you supported with the implementation of new finance systems?

Do you have experience of the Charity sector, strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work in a vibrant environment? If so, read on!

A national charity that helps people in financial hardship gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and support services is looking for an experienced Accountant to join them on a 6 month + Fixed Term Contract at their Head Office in West London.

You will be responsible for:
* The company's income accounting, banking and bank reconciliations
* Maintaining a strong control environment and fulfilling month end and year end requirements
* Regularly reconciling the fundraising and accounting systems and the grant giving and accounting systems
* Controlling and administering credit card processes
* Record processes/systems for GDPR and in preparation for moving to new finance software
* Produce monthly cash flow forecasts
* Represent the department internally & externally for accounting services

To thrive in this role, you will:
+ Have some experience with SORP
+ Be part or fully qualified (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA)
+ Have strong, instinctive aptitude for accounting logic
+ Have a strong, instinctive aptitude for accounting IT package logic
+ Have excellent error/fraud 'anomaly spotting' skills
+ Be solution focus and implement improvements
+ Be highly organised and be able to consistently meet deadlines
+ Be able to interpret financial language for non-financial colleagues users' needs
+ Be a team player - wanting & facilitating the whole team to succeed together
+ Have a friendly and approachable manner with a focus on customer service
