Chemistry Teacher

Are you a teacher of Chemistry, who can teach consistently outstanding lessons, stretch the most able students from Year 7 up to A Level, and give feedback to pupils on how best to improve and develop rigorous academic arguments? Would you like to teach in a calm and purposeful atmosphere for learning, where behaviour is outstanding and the emphasis is placed on academic achievement and exam results?

A school in the Brentwood area of Essex is looking to appoint a full time teacher of Chemistry to strengthen a constantly improving Science department. The school obtained a good inspection following its' most recent Ofsted visit, and they are keen to appoint staff to help them make the step from good to outstanding. In support of this aim, the school are working hard to improve leadership and management, by identifying key areas for improvement and taking decisive action to tackle them. Governors also challenge and support the school to improve.

The school is average sized with very low proportions of pupil premium, special educational needs, or disadvantaged pupils. Pupils make good progress throughout the school, from year 7 to the sixth form. A successful applicant to the school would need to display:-

*Thorough subject knowledge in Chemistry, with the ability to teach general Science to GCSE and Chemistry to A Level
*Consistently good teaching with the ability to plan thoroughly, accurately understand pupil needs, and give clear direction on learning pathways
*Good communication, organisation and analytical skills
*A sense of humour and a caring nature at all times
